PRESS RELEASE
Erie, CO - Announcing her campaign less than two weeks before the December 31st filing deadline, first-time candidate and Democrat Jennifer Parenti raised over $10,000, nearly doubling Republican incumbent Representative Dan Woog’s fundraising for the quarter in the race for HD19. Parenti is a Colorado native, retired US Air Force officer and a single mom who resides in Erie.
Our part of the Front Range has been left out of the policy decisions made at the Capitol for too long. Weld and Boulder County families deserve a Representative with a proven track record of putting public service before partisan politics. We need real solutions for modern public transportation and utilities, a genuine commitment to protecting and preserving our land, air and water, and affordable housing and healthcare for our workforce and families.
President Biden, Senator Hickenlooper, and Governor Polis all won the newly formed House District 19 in their respective elections. Proposition 115 also failed heavily in the district, and with Woog sponsoring some of the harshest anti-abortion bills of the 2021 session, this seat is one of Colorado Democrats’ biggest State House flip opportunities in 2022.
Representative Woog raised $5,725 in the final quarter of 2021 after transferring $4724.53 from his HD 63 campaign to his new committee.
Parenti has been endorsed by Erie Trustees Christiaan van Woudenberg and Justin Brooks, St. Vrain Valley School Board Director Meosha Brooks, State Senator Sonya Jaquez-Lewis, and former Democratic Party chair Pat Waak, among others. At the time of this release, she has no primary opponent.
